- From Termini: Metro A towards Anagnina to Subaugusta, no changes, in about 20 minutes. It is a 3-minute walk from the exit.
- From Fiumicino: Leonardo Express to Termini (about 32 minutes), then Metro A. Or the FL1 train to Roma Tuscolana and Metro A from Ponte Lungo.
- From Ciampino: ATAC bus 520 to Cinecittà metro station (about 30 minutes), then one metro stop to Subaugusta.
- Taxi: the fixed airport fares only apply inside the Aurelian Walls. Cinecittà is outside, so the fare is metered.
From Termini station
- Metro A: follow the signs for line A and take the train towards Anagnina. Subaugusta is the third-to-last stop on the line, about 20 minutes away with no changes. Take the exit for Piazza di Cinecittà / Viale Tito Labieno: the apartment is a 3-minute walk.
- Taxi: about 20–30 minutes along Via Tuscolana, depending on traffic.
From Fiumicino airport
- Leonardo Express + Metro A: the non-stop train reaches Termini in about 32 minutes, with frequent departures; tickets start at €14. At Termini take Metro A towards Anagnina to Subaugusta. About an hour and a quarter in total.
- FL1 train + Metro A: the FL1 regional train (towards Fara Sabina / Orte) stops at Roma Tuscolana, is cheaper than the Leonardo Express and avoids Termini. From Tuscolana station it is a few minutes’ walk to Ponte Lungo on Metro A: from there, towards Anagnina, it is 8 stops to Subaugusta.
- Taxi: about 45–60 minutes. The fixed fare from Fiumicino only covers the centre inside the Aurelian Walls: to Cinecittà the fare is metered. Only use the official white taxis at the rank outside arrivals.
From Ciampino airport
- Bus 520: the easiest option. ATAC city bus 520 leaves from the airport and reaches Cinecittà on Metro A in about 30 minutes. From there take the metro towards Battistini for just one stop to Subaugusta. Buy your ticket at the airport before boarding.
- Shuttle bus to Termini: several companies link Ciampino and Termini in about 40 minutes; then Metro A to Subaugusta. Longer, but useful if you land late.
- Taxi: about 20–25 minutes. Here too the fixed fare only applies inside the Aurelian Walls: to Cinecittà the fare is metered.
Bus, tram and metro tickets
In Rome a standard ATAC ticket (BIT) is valid for 100 minutes on buses and trams and includes one metro ride. You can buy it at metro stations, tobacconists and newsstands, or tap a contactless card directly at the metro gates. Remember to validate your ticket when you board a bus.
If you are staying several days, look at the 24, 48 and 72-hour passes.
Arriving late in the evening
The Rome metro closes at around 11:30 pm (later on Fridays and Saturdays); at night, night buses run along Via Tuscolana. If your flight lands late, a taxi is the simplest choice.
Either way, let us know about 40 minutes before you arrive: the street door and the apartment door open remotely, and by law we need the ID documents of all guests before entry, so send them in advance on WhatsApp or by email.
From Subaugusta to the centre
Once here, Metro A towards Battistini takes you with no changes to Termini, the Spanish Steps (Spagna), Flaminio (Piazza del Popolo) and Ottaviano, a short walk from St Peter’s. For the Colosseum, change at San Giovanni (Metro C) or at Termini (Metro B). In the other direction, one stop takes you to the Cinecittà studios.
For everything else, read the neighbourhood guide. If you are coming to work at the studios, there is also a page on staying near Cinecittà.
